- A new survey has found that organizations with formal data management strategies derive more value from data assets and outperform competitors.
The survey, Big Data: Harnessing a game-changing asset, was conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) and sponsored by SAS, the leader in business analytics.

- Investment in business analytics and analytical talent will rise in 2012, but organizations still have their work cut out for them when it comes to making projects effective and instilling the right analytical culture and skills, according to new research from Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and SAS. More details here.
- SAS exceeded the 6 percent growth in hiring projected at the beginning of the year. In Belgium, 27 new employees have been hired in 2011. More info here.
- Roots Software and SAS signed a partnership that will expand the offering of business analytics implementation services on the market. Read more.

Satisfied customers
In August and September, we surveyed customers in Belgium about their use of SAS and their satisfaction with SAS software and services. We analyzed the feedback of 263 respondents and here are some preliminary conclusions. More detailed information will be communicated later.
- More than 94% is extremely or very satisfied with SAS software
- 92,4 % will definitely recommend or is likely to recommend SAS software to peers and colleagues
- 76 % of the respondents first learned about SAS on the job
- 90,1% of the respondents consider SAS as a trusted partner.
- The 5 biggest benefits for SAS customers who responded to the survey were:
- processing and handling big data
- integrating data coming from different sources
- efficiency of SAS Software
- SAS software is easy to use, also for business users
- Using SAS software gains time

SAS Forum Belux – Facts & Figures of 6 October 2011
- 700 people registered
- There were 15 customer presentations on the agenda
- The Spicing Up Analytics track hosted more than 300 attendees
- PICS organized a track in the afternoon welcoming 93 high level attendees interested in Supply Chain and Sales & Operations Planning.
