In less than 2 weeks, the annual SAS Forum Belux will take place. This edition on the 1st October is a special one, as we’ll also take the opportunity of having more than 500 SAS users together to celebrate our 20th anniversary in Belgium!

SAS® Analytics help fight global poverty

Statistics Norway provides developing nations SAS® software to better understand basic needs, justify aid requests.

Under an innovative program managed by Statistics Norway, Norway's central agency for official statistics, a growing list of underdeveloped nations receive software from SAS, the leader in business analytics. The struggling countries will use advanced SAS Analytics to analyze poverty statistics and census data for the 2010 World Population and Housing Census. The software will also generate documentation to support aid requests from agencies such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, United Nations and others.   Read more.

SAS has launched innovative new software to fight fraud, but also to better understand customer sentiment. SAS® Social Network Analysis and SAS’ social media analysis solution help organizations uncover hidden relationships between individuals and data; detect patterns and trends; and mine text and other unstructured data.  Read more.

National Geographic improves ROI using SAS® to target marketing campaigns

By using  SAS Analytics to target its marketing campaigns more precisely, the National Geographic Society has seen a return on investment of 200 to 300 percent, with the best-performing customer segments realizing 50 percent overall campaign performance improvement. 

One of the biggest challenges for National Geographic is optimizing marketing efficiency across multiple departments and product lines. The answer: Gather customer information into one central marketing database that provides a 360-degree view of its customers.
