SAS® Users of New Zealand (SUNZ) – 2011 Conference expected to attract record attendance numbers

AUCKLAND, New Zealand  (31 Jan 2011)  – SAS - the leader in business analytics software and services and the largest independent vendor in the business intelligence market – will host the SUNZ annual conference in Wellington on Thursday February 24th. Unfolding details may be found at www.sunz.net.nz.

The SUNZ conference will be attended by senior executive decision makers and technology professionals from both the public and private sectors and will deliver crucial insights into the use of predictive analytics and business intelligence for profitable business growth and organisational advancement.

According to Geoff Beynon – general manger, SAS New Zealand – some 250 delegates are expected to attend and more than half of them will be C-level executives from the financial services, insurance, telecommunications, health care, retail, manufacturing, mining and public sectors..

He added, "Our customer base in this region has grown strongly since the last SUNZ Conference in 2010 despite the adverse financial climate between that time and today – and I am confident that this year's event will attract a record number of attendances. This is because most companies are now seeing an explosion of data and the smart ones are using the insights gained from data to harness business advantage".

Amongst the Conference highlights will be the keynote address by visiting Deepak Ramanathan –Business Development Manager, SAS Asia Pacific – plus speakers from. Accident Compensation Corporation, Altis, Housing New Zealand, Knoware, Loyalty New Zealand, New Zealand Post, Optimal BI, Victoria University, Westpac and Weltec.

Presenting in two executive streams, other high profile participants will explore how business analytics can ensure best practice operations, offer case study presentations and lead expert discussions on topics such as data warehousing; data quality assurance; fraud detection and prevention; virtualisation; analytics in the Cloud and more. There will also be a technical workshops stream featuring hands-on exposure to the latest SAS software solutions.
