Rapid growth for SAS ANZ to meet accelerating demand for advanced analytics
SAS Australia and New Zealand increase sales and customer-facing positions, including new senior management roles
SYDNEY, Australia (31 Jan 2013) – SAS has announced two new senior level appointments for Australia and New Zealand, as the company pursues aggressive growth to meet accelerating market demand for predictive analytics. Lynette Clunies-Ross has been named as chief operating officer and Jo Tyrer as New South Wales state manager.
SAS Australia and New Zealand managing director David Bowie said the appointments allow SAS to better respond to the exponential growth in the analytics market. "These latest appointments enhance our sales and strategic expertise in our management team and are part of a wider plan to increase sales headcount and customer focus."

Lynette Clunies-Ross comes to SAS following twenty years in IT, including 17 with IBM where she held several senior management positions in Australia and China, and was the recipient of numerous performance awards for outstanding achievement.
As chief operations officer, Clunies-Ross will drive a holistic and integrated approach to marketing, sales and service delivery across the customer lifecycle, ensuring customers realise the business value of SAS advanced analytics.
Reporting into Bowie, Jo Tyrer leads SAS' New South Wales sales and delivery teams to develop improved customer strategies that deliver measureable value to customers. Prior to joining SAS, Tyrer spent 10 years with Informatica in the UK and has a successful record of achievement in the information management sector. Her positions at Informatica included sales director and global account director for BP.
