MGSM schedules SAS-based Business Analytics Program for November
SYDNEY, Australia (03 Sep 2012) – Following the success of its first Executive Education Business Analytics Program, the Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) has scheduled a repeat session for November 26th through 29th 2012 in Sydney. The Business Analytics program is designed for senior executives, company directors, general managers and analytics managers; plus IT professionals transitioning into the analytics field.
MGSM Open Programs director, Jenny Rickard, expects the Business Analytics program to be scheduled increasingly frequently in future because, "Organisations are starting to better understand the importance of analytics as they struggle to manage ever-increasing volumes of structured and unstructured information in a meaningful way.
"The objective is to give participants a good understanding of how the new era of analytics can shape their strategic plans and decision making. Organisations are now being overwhelmed with information, and business analytics is the key to searching through it quickly for timely and valuable insights."
The four-day program is very hands-on and uses SAS business analytics tools online via tablet technology and with real-world data sets. MGSM recognised that SAS's business analytics software is very widely used by major banks, retailers, government agencies, telecommunications carriers, and other sizeable organisations.
According to leading analyst IDC, SAS' 35.2% share of the advanced analytics market in 2011 was more than the entire share for the remaining advanced analytic vendors named in IDC's report, 'Worldwide Business Analytics Software 2012-2016 Forecast and 2011 Vendor Shares'.
MGSM's Business Analytics program's facilitators are Neil Fraser, whose roll out of Macquarie University's own new analytics platform has won major prizes, including the worldwide Ventana Research Award for Location Intelligence, and the Australian Business Intelligence Leadership Award. In addition, co-presenting is leading analytics author Evan Stubbs, Chief Analytics Officer at SAS Australia and author of The Value of Business Analytics, published last year in the United States.
