Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations selects SAS® Visual Analytics

SYDNEY, Australia  (08 Aug 2013)  – The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) has selected SAS® Visual Analytics to enhance capabilities for data-driven decision-making.

SAS® Visual Analytics will provide DEEWR with enhanced self-service data discovery and exploration, and provide the Department's leaders with more flexible and accessible reporting.

Susan Monkley, Chief Information Officer at DEEWR said, "Deploying visual analytics software will help us uncover trends and relationships by offering greater insight and exploration into the vast amount of data we hold. The ability to build a simple visual environment with quick response times is expected to have a significant positive impact on DEEWR policy development."

David Bowie, managing director SAS Australia and New Zealand added, "Providing improved data insights is crucial at all levels in the government for strategic management and efficiency. Many government departments have to deal with large volumes of data, often located in disparate silos. Using SAS Visual Analytics, DEEWR teams can access data regardless of location and platform.

"Our 37-year legacy in analytics puts us in a unique position to deliver value beyond the technical solution. This has meant for great momentum in the uptake of SAS® Visual Analytics, and our relationship with DEEWR will add to our credentials in the government sector," he added.

SAS Visual Analytics is an in-memory solution for exploring any amount of data very quickly. Users can spot patterns, identify opportunities for further analysis and convey visual results via Web reports or iPad® and Android tablets.

SAS Visual Analytics quickly reads data into memory for fast processing and data visualisation. Users can explore all data, execute analytic correlations on billions of rows of data in just minutes or seconds, and visually present results. They can then quickly identify patterns, trends and relationships in data that are not apparent before being graphically displayed.

Since the best way to understand the value of SAS Visual Analytics is by experiencing it firsthand, SAS has created an online environment for customers to try the software. Please visit the new interactive SAS Visual Analytics demo.
