SAS Appoints Sales Manager for Financial Services SectorSYDNEY, Australia (15 Sep 2008) – The Australian arm of SAS, the leader in business analytics software and the largest independent business intelligence vendor, has announced the appointment of Michael Belakhov as sales manager, Financial Services Sector, New South Wales. He is based at the company’s regional head office in Sydney and the appointment is effective immediately. Michael Belakhov joined SAS in early 2006 as a line of business solutions general manager and is a 20 years plus veteran of the local IT industry. His earlier positions included that of Australia and New Zealand managing director for Business Objects, since subsumed by SAP AG. In his new role, Michael Belakhov assumes responsibility for furthering the SAS presence within its existing NSW customers in the banking, insurance and other financial institutions markets, together with winning new business. SAS is a leader in the financial industries sector and regional customers include, ANZ Banking Group, Westpac, Commonwealth Bank, Bank of Queensland, HBOS, National Australia Bank, St. George Bank and Bank of New Zealand. Announcing this new appointment, SAS Australia and New Zealand managing director Gordon Clubb said, “Michael brings multiple talents to this important role, having acquired them in a number of diverse assignments within the business intelligence and analytics environment, over time.
