SAS named to Best Places to Work in IT by Computerworld

Software giant helps employees balance professional, personal life

SYDNEY, Australia  (28 Jun 2007)  –  SAS, the leader in business intelligence, has been selected as a top employer in information technology by IDG’s Computerworld magazine, the “Voice of IT Management.” The 14th annual Best Places to Work survey is published in the June 18 issue of Computerworld and online at www.Computerworld.com.

Computerworld’s questionnaire gathers information to score the top 100 work environments for technology professionals. Categories include benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. This year, responses from more than 27,000 IT workers factored heavily in final rankings.

“It’s the people at SAS who make it a great place to work,” said Suzanne Gordon, Vice President and Chief Information Officer for SAS. “How lucky we are to work at a company that offers such great benefits, but also to have great co-workers. This year’s Computerworld survey points out the positive effect of a good relationship between managers and their direct reports.”

SAS, ranked second in the category “Best Places for Benefits,” is well known for its work environment. Annually, the company reinvests about a quarter of its revenues into research and development, enabling employees to work on cutting-edge technology. In addition, benefit programs such as on-site childcare and healthcare, a fully equipped fitness center, wellness programs, comprehensive benefit packages, convenient services and flexible work schedules facilitate better work/life balance for employees.

“The recipients of this year’s Best Places to Work stand out because they are united by a common theme – they understand the importance of IT and recognize the value these IT professionals bring to the workplace on a daily basis,” said Don Tennant, Editor in Chief, Computerworld.
