We recognise that lecturers often have trouble obtaining data sets that are suitable for teaching specific concepts
in statistics. To assist in that area, SAS has assembled a library of SAS data sets. After providing a minimal amount of identification
information, visitors will be able to download any of a number of data sets from the
Data Set Library. The library contains an index data set to help you ascertain the size of each data set and some types of analysis
that might be appropriate for that data. In addition, a text file is included with each individual data set to give some background about
the data and recommendations for analysis discussions.
SAS offers free getting started tutorials for a number of SAS products. See
http://www.sas.com/apps/elearning/elearning_courses.jsp?cat=Free+Tutorials
for more information.
Solutions from SAS are used at more than 37,000 business, government and university sites around the world.
Customers include 98 of the top 100 companies on the Fortune 500, and 90% of the Fortune 500 overall. SAS can provide links to
industry to provide relevant projects and guest lecturers. We can also facilitate a work placement program for students who have been
exposed to SAS at university to work at SAS customer sites to gain valuable industry experience and employment opportunities.
Students
SAS users at all levels, from novice to advanced, will appreciate this inexpensive, intuitive and easy-to-use personal learning
version of SAS. Explore the power of SAS by using the SAS Enterprise Guide point-and-click interface or by writing and modifying SAS code
through the SAS Program Editor. With SAS Learning Edition, you are provided a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn
how SAS gives you the power to perform-all on a low-cost, single CD-ROM. Further information is available from:

If you have learnt SAS in an academic environment, you are eligible to participate in the SAS Work Placement Program. This
involves the opportunity to gain valuable experience putting your theoretical studies into practice utilising SAS at a SAS Customer
site. The duration of the placements is generally 6-8 weeks and is usually unpaid. The Work Placement Program has been running for the
past four years and around 25% of students involved are offered further paid employment. Further information can be found

FREE SAS® Licence for final year thesis use
If you are preparing to write your Final Thesis you may licence any SAS software that you require, free of charge. You will be required
to provide details of your university, faculty, research supervisor and your proposed research topic. Further information and

Five students will earn the opportunity to present their research projects at SAS Forum International. The student ambassadors will
meet with business leaders and specialists from every industry and sector, as well as SAS experts to discuss real business challenges
and solutions. During the past four years, the student presentations have proven to be extremely popular with SAS customers. Moreover,
because SAS skills are in demand and past participants presented complex research topics in a very professional way, many student
ambassadors even received job offers as a result of attending.
If you:

- Think your business relevant research project should be shared with an international audience
- Feel confident in presenting to an international business audience in English

In the “additional comments” field (under step 4 of the online application) please provide us with:
