SAS Wins 2010 Computerworld Singapore Customer Care Award for Business Intelligence and Business Software

SAS’ consistent effort to engage with customers was critical to winning

Singapore  (Jun. 18, 2010)  –  Computerworld Singapore has named SAS, the leader in business analytics software and services, as the 2010 Business Intelligence (BI) and Business Analytics Software Vendor of the Year. The award, conferred as part of the 2010 annual Computerworld Singapore Customer Care Awards (CCA), marks the first time that SAS has received this honour in the four year history of the awards program.

Teng Fang Yih, Editor of Computerworld Singapore, ascribed the success of the winners to their dedication to helping their customers grow and run their businesses more efficiently, even as they contend with the lingering effects of the worldwide economic recession. “The Customer Care Awards highlight the level of satisfaction companies have with their vendors and how they helped navigate customers through the rough waters of the recently demised global economic downturn,” he said. “We put together the figures and found that overall companies were happier with their vendors this year than they were 2007 through 2009. Of course, the ones they were happiest with won the awards,’ he added.

“Our customers have always been the centre of our focus, and it was no different during last year’s economic downturn. In fact, our customers increased their use of SAS by 16% despite the challenging economy. We are excited about the positive feedback we have received from our customers who are increasingly looking at business analytics to gain a competitive advantage,” Bill Lee added.

The annual Computerworld Singapore CCA provides a reality check on IT vendors’ customer care programmes and gives customers a platform to express their satisfaction with the services that come with the products they have been paying for. The contenders of the 2010 Computerworld Singapore CCA for Business Intelligence and Analytics Software Vendor of the Year were evaluated and recognised based on quality of service.

To win the 2010 Computerworld Singapore CCA for Business Intelligence and Analytics Software Vendor of the Year, SAS focused on the following to provide meaningful customer relationships through constant engagement.

SAS User Group

The SAS User Group was set up to address the growing user community of different profiles, ranging from business users to IT professionals. An annual SAS User Forum is held to share best practices on the use of SAS BA solutions. In addition, regular sessions are also held amongst different sectors for cross-sharing of knowledge and how different companies in each sector could learn from each other.

Dedicated Customer Service

SAS has a dedicated Customer Care Team which was developed to work closely with customers to consult the best use of SAS BA solutions to optimise return on investment. SAS also conducts an internal customer satisfaction survey which allows SAS to benchmark its current service level and areas where service can be improved upon to deliver greater service excellence for its customers.

Local and domestic knowledge service staff

SAS uses a local technical support team which is not outsourced as SAS believes local teams not only have a better understanding of the market, which helps to solve certain issues, but also are able to readily provide on-site consultation when the need arises. 

SAS has a global network which customers can have access to on a regional and global level. Domain knowledge residing within SAS can be leveraged on the mentioned levels to ensure that SAS customers are able to receive the necessary support.
