SAS secures RM20mil software contracts - September 9 2003
SAS Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a business solutions
provider, has secured an order book worth RM20mil this year which
include projects for the financial services, telecommunications and public sectors.
Managing director Jimmy Cheah said the company was targeting an
earnings growth of 25% to 30% for the year ending December 2003.

SAS announces new academic initiative - August 19 2003
SAS Malaysia has launched its Academic
Initiative Programme, offering a new range of software and services
designed to help institutions of higher learning create curricula
focused on business intelligence and decision support.
This programme was designed to help local universities empower
young professionals of tomorrow with modern business principles
through the use of SAS' (www.sas.com) technology and solutions, the
company said in a statement.
The software and services include collaborative courses, academic training and consulting.
“As competitive as the job market is now, students and employers
are demanding the use of the latest technology in education,” said
Jimmy Cheah, managing director of SAS Malaysia.

number-crunching analysis software, but that image is now changing.
With a few acquisitions and an enhanced business solutions package
in the bag, the company has set its sight and is going full steam
ahead into the business intelligence arena.
Getting to this point however took some time. For the past
few years, SAS has been in a “quiet” period, making few public
announcements of its offerings as plans were underway to refocus its market position. |
