Guidelines for Submission

Purpose of Awards

The Lecturer Excellence Awards, an initiative of SAS Malaysia, aims to recognize lecturers for their contributions in teaching and supporting SAS.

The SAS Malaysia Lecturer Excellence Awards will be presented at SAS Forum 2008 on Tuesday, 15^th July 2008, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. Award winners will also be invited as special guests at the SAS Forum 2008.

Structure of Awards

Three winners - The Lecturer who meets most of the criteria and score the highest marks among the criteria set will be awarded.

Submission

Submission for the awards eligibility should be complete by providing all the information required with sufficient evidence. Attachments must be stated clearly. For example, Attachment 1 for Evaluation Criteria 1, Attachment 2 for Criteria 2 and so on so forth.

Eligibility

Lecturers who are currently lecturing in universities that are licensing SAS software are eligible candidates for the awards. Lecturers must be currently employed at the time of closing date of the submission.

Submission should be received by the SAS Malaysia, Academic Program Department no later than Friday, 30^th May 2008.

Selection Process

A call for entry will be made annually, with the information being distributed at the early part of the year. Entry form is available on the SAS Malaysia, under the Academic tab (Lecturer Excellence Awards link) in a downloadable PDF file. Entry forms are also available through the SAS Malaysia Office.

The submission will be reviewed by the Lecturer Excellence Awards Judging Panel. Panel members include the Management and Academic Program Department team. The Panel will select up to 3 Lecturer Excellence Award winners.

Key Selection Criteria

1. Incorporate SAS into syllabus
2. Teaching SAS to students in class
3. Train new lecturers to successfully incorporate SAS into new subject syllabus
4. Supervise postgraduate students in research using SAS
5. A SAS Accredited Trainer
6. Participate and presents in yearly SAS Forum

Membership of Judging Panel

The Lecturer Excellence Awards judging panel comprises:

• Managing Director (or nominated representative)
• Director of Customer Strategy and Education (or nominated representative)
• Education Manager
• Academic Program Manager

Award Presentation

The Lecturer Excellence Awards will be presented at the SAS Forum 2008. All winners will be acknowledged.
