The consulting also includes sharing existing course notes, ppt and pdf (Academic Trainer Kits), which are used at SAS.

b) Research

Through this program, faculty and/or campus research centers can partner with SAS on one or more emerging topics to solve a question or find a solution. One of the example of emerging topics today includes "Applying Data Mining Techniques" in various industries to find a solution or answer.

"Data Mining is the process of exploration and analysis, by automatic or semi-automatic means, of large quantities of data in order to discover meaningful patterns and rules" and SAS was ranked as number one Data Mining category with over 36% of the market by IDC report and forecast ( 2002 - 2007 ).

c) Joint Event and Closer Collaboration:

SAS will support you in your seminar or event by contributing SAS prominent speakers, knowledge sharing on SAS projects and promotion of the event to our corporate customers.

We can also work on publications together and SAS marketing team to support the coordination.

g) Final Thesis Program

This program can be applied when a student is working as an intern (for his final thesis) at a commercial company who does not have SAS. Your local Academic Coordinator will work with you to prepare the environment for the student to access SAS software during his intern project and writing a thesis.

The following documents (provided by the student to local SAS Academic Coordinator) will be used by SAS to assess the eligibility of the program.

h) Home copies - Learning Edition for Students

Today if your student wants to self study on SAS and use SAS to practice their assignment or homework,they can use SAS Learning Edition.

The package consists of the following

• An on-line, interactive tutorial
• The book: "Getting Started with the SAS Learning Edition
• A CD that contains Enterprise Guide, Base SAS, and all the procedures surfaced by EG in SAS/STAT, SAS/QC, SAS/ETS, and SAS/GRAPH
