FPTSI coupled SAS to create Statistics teaching that match to Indonesia Qualification Framework (KKNI)
Malang (Apr. 15, 2013) – Business analytics leader SAS supports Workshop on Statistics Teaching and Work Meeting of Indonesian Statistics Higher Education Forum (FPTSI) in Brawijaya University at 12-14 April 2013. The workshop generated recommendation for Statistics teaching and learning, competencies and methods in university which match to the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI) of Indonesian Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI). In addition, FPTSI is also registered as one of the supporters of International Years of Statistics 2013 where SAS also has commitment on its success.
Hari Wijayanto, Chairman of FPTSI said, "The forum scientifically contributes to national and international level on statistics teaching and learning process especially related to the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI). During the workshop, around 90 Indonesian Statistics lecturers discussed on competencies that suit to four statistics majors. They are statistical theory, statistical methods, design of experiment, and sampling methods."
Hari added, “The competencies in KKNI will improve the graduates. This needs to be linked with standardized statistics in business. SAS with its powerful statistics algorithm have an explicit advantage for graduates when most employers require SAS skills. This links could be mutual beneficial for university and business. Therefore, we are happy to have partnership with SAS on this forum.”

They are Institut Pertanian Bogor, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Islam Indonesia, Universitas Bakrie, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, Universitas Sriwijaya, Universitas Negeri Padang, and Universitas Bangka Belitung." explained Erwin.
During the Workshop of Statistics Teaching and Work Meeting of FPTSI, SAS showcased on how Education Analytical Suite, a technology bundle that's been specifically designed for education with a full advantage of Statistics knowledge could bridge the academia with business. And this is in line with KKNI where its aims to improve Indonesian graduates with skills required by business.
