SAS Indonesia demonstrates Analytics innovation to academician

Seminar on "New Trends in Research Methodology & Analytics Technology Update!" exclusively held for educational professionals 

Jakarta  (Nov. 28, 2012)  – Today, SAS held Academic Seminar titled "New Trends in Research Methodology & Analytics Technology Update!" The seminar discusses on new trends in research methodology with big data-related and showcases innovation of SAS Visual Analytics, new in-memory business intelligence (BI) solution of SAS. The seminar attracted 70 educational professionals from 25 universities.

Bagus Sartono, lecturer from Institut Pertanian Bogor and the keynote speaker of the seminar said, “We are pleased that SAS is helping lead the development of research methods in Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Economic & Management, and Information System of Indonesian higher education. Current trends of big data could transform the way of data analysis to produce efficiencies.” 

During the seminar, Bagus Sartono explained:

  • An increasing trend of implementing ensemble approaches to improve the predictive power of models in data analysis and data mining.
  • The importance of combination between technology and statistics to bring accurate, fast result with interesting visualization.

Lecturers are engaged with researches that contributed to the country. In implementing the researches, they will need research methodology to validate the research result.

SAS Academic Program

SAS Indonesia is fortifying innovation to tackle big data for Indonesia academician with SAS Academic Program. Under the program, universities will enjoy unlimited user licenses of SAS software for student and lecturers, as well as receive SAS training, e-learning, books, the teaching materials, datasets and curriculum development support that in line with the current business analytics environment.
