Wipro Technologies has entered into an alliance with
SAS, the leading provider of business intelligence (BI) software, to offer a
range of applications from intelligence storage to analytics, data integration
and query/reporting capabilities.
The
strategic tie-up will enable Wipro Technologies, the global IT services division
of Wipro Ltd, to meet the diverse needs of its customers by leveraging the
industry specific intelligence services offered by the SAS platform.
According to a company statement here Thursday, both the partners will evolve a
solution specific strategy to help companies gain insights into their customers,
suppliers and internal infrastructure to drive value and gain competitive
advantage.
"Our customers are in need of a comprehensive BI platform to address their
predictive modelling, forecasting and data mining needs of their business data,"
said Wipro Technologies vice-president W. Vivek Bhasin.
According to SAS India marketing and alliance head George Varghese, the alliance
has been built on the complementary strengths of SAS in the BI space and
consulting, integration & solution delivery capabilities of Wipro.
"The partnership will create business teams to deliver solutions and lead the BI
marketplace. Our BI platform is a true fit for our customer needs with industry
specific solution sets," Verghese said.
Wipro's BI and data warehouse group works with about 100 global customers,
providing integrated solutions that empower knowledge workers to access data
from production databases and applications across the enterprise.
With about 40,000 sites, including 96 of the top 100 Fortune Global 500, SAS is
the only vendor that integrates leading data warehousing, analytics and
traditional BI applications to create intelligence from data.
