SAS announces Asia Pacific debut of SASTek in India

A first of its kind training initiative for technology consultants and project managers to ramp up for emerging consulting and business opportunities in BI

Reiterating its commitment to further develop and enable its global SI partners become more successful in the BI markets globally, SAS the world leader in Business Intelligence & Analytical software and services, today announced the Asia Pacific debut of a first of its kind initiative SASTek India, 2006 to be held in Bangalore from 27th February to 1st March 2006.

The three-day conference will offer a platform for technology consultants and project managers to get upto speed with the latest BI trends and SAS technologies in order to maximize the potential consulting and business opportunities emerging in the sector.

SASTek India, 2006 will be the largest knowledge exchange event for SAS System Integrators and Global Alliance partners to be kicked off from India with the theme “Harness power beyond BI”. SASTek India 2006 has been especially conceived for Business Executives, Architects, Engagement Managers, Project Directors, Project Managers and Consultants who develop market strategies and advanced information delivery solutions using SAS software. It will also offer its participants best business practices to set up SAS delivery teams in their respective organizations.

Announcing SASTek’s debut in India, Mr. Ratish Panicker, Director, Global Outsourcing and Alliances, SAS International said, “With a dynamic market place, demanding customers and disruptive competitors, technology infrastructure is a strategic tool to drive growth. SASTek is a unique opportunity to get up to speed with BI trends in the market and at the same time get acquainted with the new suite of SAS’ global products and technologies. This annual property of SAS is being hosted in India for the first time and will be extended to other countries in the Asia Pacific region as well.”

Commenting on the debut in India, he added, “With increase in global adoption of BI technologies and its use as strategic business tool, we recognized a huge demand for business and consulting opportunities in the coming years. Besides, India is an important centre of delivery operations for SAS’ global SI partners. This has created the need to enable the huge Indian talent base - the number of engineers and technology experts who are in their early stages of adoption of BI and are best suited to leverage the potential opportunities in BI. The forum is aimed at enabling and creating awareness among this vast talent pool and converting them into global experts”.

The conference is expected to see huge participation from technology experts, solution architects, consultants, business unit heads, BDM’s and pre-sales managers. It will focus on new products from SAS including the critically acclaimed SAS®9. SAS®9 has set a new standard in integrated software offerings which is a single, scalable platform providing a consistent, rewarding user experience.

The conference will also cover other leading SAS solutions in Data Integration, Intelligence storage, Business Intelligence and Analytical Intelligence.
