Spacer Spacer Spacer SAS India sees 40% growth in revenue in 2004; launches SAS9 - April 01, 2004

Business Intelligence software company SAS's revenue from India is likely to grow 40 per cent this year on the back of  new products including SAS9

"We grew 30 per cent last year and SAS9 is expected to drive this pace of growth to an even higher level by 40 per cent by expanding the market for BI solutions", Vivek Gokarn, MD and CEO SAS India said.

To support this growth, the company plans to expand its direct customer facing team and alliance partners in line with its overall strategy of expanding the industry solution and domain exercise, he said.

SAS9 includes SAS Intelligence platform, a broad set of integrated software for unmatched data integration, easy-to-use business reporting and analytics.

Along with its current verticals like BFSI, telecom and pharmaceutical, the company expects retail and manufacturing as additional growth areas.

It currently has consulting alliances like PwC, TCS, Tata Infotech, Satyam, MindTree and hardware partners like Sun Microsystems, HP, IBM.

The company launched SAS9 in India today. It has over 22 per cent dominant marketshare. The potential of BI market in India as per Frost and Sullivan is that the market will touch $53.2 million by 2008 from $15.9 million in 2003.
