Competency Development

SAS' Competency Development Program provides employees with opportunities to enhance their technical and professional skills.

Competency development programs vary depending on the specific needs of the work streams like Sales & Marketing, Professional Services, SAS Industry Intelligence Solutions, Research & Development and Advisory Services.

Together with their managers, our employees engage in a structured process that examines in detail their strengths, development needs, job requirements, and personal values. They, then prepare for a development discussion with their manager, that focuses on aligning their values with growth opportunities in their current jobs to enhance job satisfaction and productivity.
 


 
Management Development Programmes
   
SAS offers workshops to managers to help them acquire the skills and knowledge needed to elicit peak performance from their teams. The workshops cover key management principles of goal setting, delegation, coaching and developing employees, decision-making, handling conflict, managing change, and rewarding and recognizing employees.

Our expenditure on Competency Development is almost 10% of our total employee compensation, which has been the highest amongst 27 countries in Europe, Middle East, Africa for the year 2003.
