SAS initiates Corporate Citizenship Program in India - participates in spreading happiness to children of “Shreevatsa, Child Care centre of SOFOSH

This is the essence of SAS’s “Corporate Citizenship program” to which SAS is wholly committed.

The SAS Corporate Citizenship Program examines the socio-economic needs of society and makes contributions based on a philosophy of changing lives with long-term impact. In line with this, the “Corporate Citizenship program” is based on three critical components: Financial Donations, In-Kind Giving & Employee Volunteerism. This structure allows SAS to support social service organizations in a variety of ways

Our expenditure on Competency Development is almost 10% of our total employee compensation, which has been the highest amongst 27 countries in Europe, Middle East, Africa for the year 2003.

‘Shreevatsa’
Child Care Center of SOFOSH

As part of this program, SAS recently reached to ‘Spread happiness and love for the children of, ‘Shreevatsa’, Child Care Center of SOFOSH (The Society of Friends of Sassson Hospitals).

Commenting on the occasion, said,Ms. Soumi Alphons, Head – Human Resources “At SAS, we strive towards creating healthy and prosperous communities. SOFOSH provided the ideal platform for us to initiate the SAS Corporate Citizenship Program in India and provide opportunities for our employees to contribute towards it. We look forward to building a strong and ongoing relationship with SOFOSH”.

SAS encourages employees to volunteer for schools and nonprofit organizations through the Employee Volunteer Fund (EVF). Offering cash contribution to an organization along with consistent volunteerism support offers the best of both worlds to the target community.

SOFOSH is a non-profit, non-religious NGO committed to the "Rehabilitation of family deprived children. Shreevatsa, a key project of Sofosh, takes care of family deprived children until their rehabilitation. This is done by placing the children for adoption into good families. Shreevatsa has placed more than 2000 children in various families via domestic and foreign adoption so far.

About SOFOSH

The Society of Friends of Sassoon Hospitals (SOFOSH) is a voluntary, charitable, non-government organization, based in Pune, India. SOFOSH was established by a group of public-spirited Indian citizens in 1964. Rehabilitation of family deprived children is primary focus of Sofosh. Sofosh supplements its child welfare activities by offering a wide range of family and patient welfare services and is run completely by donations.

In 1973, SOFOSH started SHREEVATSA, a project, to take care of babies who are 'relinquished' by single mothers / birth parents. Shreevatsa is home and hope to these family deprived infants. After nurturing and nursing them through the immense trauma of their separation, SHREEVATSA resettles the little ones through ADOPTION to families who love and cherish them.
