Alex
Wong is the president for Greater China of SAS Institute Ltd, which
spans Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan. He is responsible for
strategic planning, business development and operational oversight.
Wong joined SAS in January 2007 with 30 years’ management
experience in the IT industry, particularly in the Asia Pacific and
Greater China regions. Under Wong’s leadership, SAS China has become one
of the fastest growing SAS operations in the Asia Pacific for two
consecutive years. Believing that contented employees can help generate
satisfied customers, Wong has created an environment that allows SAS
employees in China to work happily and enjoy their innovative lives. SAS
has received the “China Top Employers” award in 2008 and 2009, and the
award for "The Best Employers of Chinese IT Industry 2007".
Prior
to joining SAS, Wong held senior positions including chief executive
officer at Pansky Technology Group, and president for China at EDS. At
Cable & Wireless HKT, Wong was regional business director and general
manager for corporate markets. In a 20-year career at Unisys, Wong rose
to the position of president for China.
