SAS HK General Manager Talked Business Analytics at Metro Finance Cecil Ko, SAS Hong Kong General Manager was interviewed with "Corporate Expo" of Metro Finance and the radio program was aired on May 17 2009. In the interview, Ko highlighted SAS 's leadership in advanced analytics and has cited various examples to illustrate the growing importance of this technology. For instance, SAS Analytics helps government to identify the breakout of epidemic disease, banks to prevent money laundering and supermarkets to increase sales and revenue by analyzing customer purchasing behavior and patterns. Under the current economic turmoil when risk factors are increasing and competition is getting intense, Ko urged to consider the adoption of data analytics for fact-based decision to overcome market challenges. He also mentioned talent development is important to SAS and SAS has been working closely with academic institutions to provide training courses on data analytics.
