Community Relations

(Jun 29, 2003)SAS takes its corporate responsibility seriously. Through some generous financial grants to in-kind donations and employee volunteerism, we seek to better the communities in which we live and work and to make a difference for young. SAS Hong Kong recently organized an outing with Hong Kong Family Welfare Society (HKFWS) for Single-parent families on June 29, 2003 at Cow Boy Land, Pat Heung, Yuen Long. On that sunny day, SAS' employees had worked as the helpers to lead the team and conduct the games in groups with over 80 kids and parents. This activity aims to enhance parent-child relationship of single-parent families and to strengthen the social network of single-parent families. "We used to organize this outing at 4 times a year as the single parent families are really in need of our resources to organize such kind of function to bring fun and to nurture the kids. We're pleased to have SAS' help and volunteerism this time; we were impressed by their enthusiasm and coordination in driving and leading the program," commented by Ms Justine Leung, Social Worker, HKFWS. This one-day horse-riding activity did bring much fun to the single-parent kids. The program included BBQ, horse riding, horse show, lucky draws and games.

Special thanks goes to the support of Toys R Us, Lam Soon (HK) Limited and SUN Microsystems, who had made the generous contributions of gifts to the families. Take a look at the photos and you would feel the happiness and the enjoyable time that the families shared on this horse-riding day.
