SAS announces strategic new appointments
Johannesburg, South Africa (03 Jun. 2011) –
SAS, the global leader in business analytics, has announced a number of new appointments that aim to assist the organisation bolster its growth plans and better service customers throughout South Africa.
The announcement includes the appointment of Naledi Ndlovu as marketing manager, Mooketsi "Phops" Matsepe as general manager for public sector, and Errol Strydom as sales director.
In addition to the above, its former general manager: public sector, Desan Naidoo, has been moved to the role of operations director, and Kevin Kemp will now fulfil the role of national sales manager. In addition, Millicent Sibeko assumes the role of HR Director, while Ravi Pillay assumes the role of General Manager: Professional Services.
"There is enormous opportunity and demand arising for business analytics solutions that act as an information enabler to business within the local landscape," says Maphum Nxumalo, managing director of SAS South Africa. "It is with this that we at SAS South Africa need to be in a position to take advantage of this growth and demonstrate to our customers how they can benefit from analytics. I believe the new team and structure of the business will assist us in realising these aims."
Newly appointed marketing manager Naledi Ndlovu has served tenures in the marketing departments of Discovery Health and the Gordon Institute of Business. She was also a senior marketing manager at KPMG, and more recently, held the position of group marketing manager at EOH. She brings with her extensive knowledge of the technology industry and a host of sound and forward-thinking business marketing skills.
Fulfilling the role of general manager sales: public sector, Mooketsi 'Phops' Matsepe, has held positions at SAB and Cell C; his government experience includes a term at SITA in the capacity of general manager: National Departments and more recently a post at Adapt IT as public sector executive director.
Now in the position of sales director, Errol Strydom boasts more than 15 years of sales experience in the ICT sector. He is best recognised for his time at SAP where he was charged with growing the software company's Africa sales business. He is well versed with the nature of sales within the technology business and brings with him a keen understanding of the competitive sales environment in which SAS operates.
