SAS, Nedbank host first Nedbank Analyst ForumJohannesburg, South Africa (27 Sep. 2007) – The Nedbank Analyst Forum was launched at the end of July 2007 at SAS Institute's South African head office in Houghton. The forum is a joint venture between SAS and Nedbank's Retail Business Intelligence, and is set to become a quarterly event hosted at SAS. The first forum focused on Data Mining for Credit Scoring, showcasing Gustav Raubenheimer and Andre de Waal as the key speakers. Raubenheimer is the head of Credit Risk for Nedbank Retail, and has extensive international experience in the fields of credit scoring, risk management and data mining. De Waal holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Bristol and is currently an Associate Professor at the Centre for Business Mathematics and Informatics at North West University, where he teaches data mining. The Nedbank Analyst Forum is aimed at data mining practitioners, analysts, statisticians, programmers and anyone involved in the fields of credit risk, marketing analytics, operational risk and financial modelling. The forum has been designed to allow attendees to learn best practices and new ideas from industry experts and thought leaders, as well as providing an opportunity for networking.
