With more than 1,500 software vendors competing in the knowledge management community, it’s difficult to identify the companies that offer real business intelligence solutions. But KMWorld has done the work for you, compiling its annual list of "100 Companies that Matter in Knowledge Management."
This prestigious listing, to be published in the March 2005 edition of KMWorld, includes some of today’s most notable high-tech companies, and SAS is among them.
"SAS continues to have a major impact on the business intelligence community, providing true business solutions that help non-technical business users take advantage of all the powerful knowledge at their fingertips," says Hugh McKellar, editor-in-chief of KMWorld. "We are pleased to again recognize SAS for its significant contributions to knowledge management, in general, and to helping businesses succeed, in particular."
Why SAS? Knowledge management (KM) consists of a broad range of high-tech disciplines that involve exchange of information – including business intelligence, data management, customer relationships, portals, content management and competitive intelligence. As McKellar puts it, "KM is an attitude, not an application."
SAS®9, launched last year, provides integrated, reliable and easy-to-use technologies across the KM spectrum, especially BI. Ranging from data manipulation to reporting and predictive analytics, SAS delivers an end-to-end solution allowing companies to achieve knowledge beyond the standard BI tools offered by most providers.
"At SAS, we focus on our customers’ feedback and have rolled out an integrated, analytics-driven BI architecture that’s ‘fit-to-task,’ making it easy for our customers to access and understand this knowledge and to make accurate predictions that drive future success," says Rob Stephens, director of technology strategies at SAS. "SAS’ inclusion in the KMWorld ranking is another indication that SAS helps companies make better, faster decisions based on better business intelligence."
