Creating the right environment for informed Enterprise Risk Management Cover Driver, The Forum, Wanderers Building, The Campus, 57 Sloane Street, Bryanston
In a limited series of focused business leader events, industry experts in the risk field will be sharing their
collective experiences and expertise. Drawing from what they have seen unfold in their own companies,
they will talk about creating business value from best practices, common mistakes, and how they have
managed to develop environments which not only monitor and measure risk, but assist in preventing it
as well.
Join the industry expert at the fourth leg of the SAS Risk Business Seminars where we will take a look at
the value internal audit can contribute to enterprise risk management.
Traditionally, internal auditing’s testing of controls has been performed on a retrospective and cyclical
basis, often many months after business activities have occurred. The testing procedures have often
been based on a sampling approach and included activities such as reviews of policies, procedures,
approvals, and reconciliations. Today, however, it is recognized that this approach only affords internal
auditors a narrow scope of evaluation, and is often too late to be of real value to business performance
or regulatory compliance. Continuous auditing is a method used to perform control and risk
assessments automatically on a more frequent basis. |
