USER GROUP PROFILE
Golden Horseshoe SAS® Users Group
The Golden Horseshoe SAS Users Group was formed in June 2006. The group meets twice a year, near the end of April and near the end of September. We have had two meetings, both successful, and are looking forward to our third meeting in September.
The meetings are generally attended by a wide variety of users from industry, retail, health and university backgrounds. We are hoping to top 50 attendees at our next meeting.
We try very hard to mix up our meeting agendas to include both beginner and advanced topics. Our last meeting had presentations on General Linear Mixed Models, ODS PDF Tips and Tricks, and the SAS Financial Management module. Also, there was a report on the SAS Global Forum. To view any of our presentations please consult the Web page listed below or click on our logo.
We also began to have breakout sessions at our last meeting. Everyone seemed to enjoy those sessions, and we will continue with them at the next meeting. We had specific groups in statistics, business intelligence and reporting, and a programming/coders corner.
We are really pleased to see how well this users group is coming together. We started this group with the objective that people in the Oakville to Niagara area would be able to get together and talk about SAS without having to make the trip to Toronto. We are seeing an increase in numbers and an increase in interest. We really like the wide variety of people we are able to draw, and we think that we can make this group a real bonus for the SAS users in this area. Our users group will have reached its next milestone when we have to find a room that holds more than 125 people.
One of a number of good presentations we have had to date is the ODS PDF Tips and Tricks by Barry Hong. I have attached this presentation. |
