A Message from SAS Canada
INSIGHTS was launched
four years ago to keep our Canadian
SAS® community informed. Today,
as we launch the new design of insights to
our community of more than 3,000
subscribers, that need is just as
important. As usual Insights features
the latest in techie tips (especially
for getting the most out of SAS®9),
profiles on SAS practitioners and
SAS staff, news, and more. We’ve
redesigned insights’
to make it easier to
find what’s most important to you.
Please feel free to send us an e-mail
at Customer Value to let us know
your thoughts on our new format.
The Customer Value Group at SAS
is also celebrating a milestone,
our fifth anniversary! While
our mission continues to be the improvement of your SAS experience,
the means is always changing. To the growing list of users groups
(25 at last count), SAS Global Forum activities and other initiatives
that we support, we look forward to expanding our activities with
universities and colleges. Look for more excitement in this area
as we move into the fall.
Speaking of SAS Global Forum,
this year’s meeting in Orlando,
Florida truly took the conference
to new heights! During the Opening
Session, the SAS Global Users
Group Executive Board announced sasCommunity.org,
a collaborative online SAS community
for SAS users worldwide. This
Web site provides a single entry
point that any SAS user worldwide
can go to in order to find any
and all resources that might
be of value. Also, at a special
ceremony, Greg McLean of Statistics
Canada was awarded the 2006 Customer
Value Award. For more information,
please go to our Techie
Tips section.
Finally, for Canadians at the
conference, our annual SAS Canada
event took place at theAdventurers
Club in Downtown Disney. This event combined the uniqueness
of the 1920s era club (full of
the most unusual group of world
travelers ever assembled) with
an always-engaging and fun-loving
Canadian crowd. Needless to say
a good time was had by all!
We hope you enjoy insights’ new look and feel, and hope you have a terrific summer!
Regards,
Wally Thiessen
