SAS secures patents related to technology in SAS® Warranty Analysis

CARY, NC  (07 Jun. 2011)  – SAS, the leader in business analytics software and services, has earned approval for two new patents related to SAS® Warranty Analysis , software that helps manufacturers and retailers apply analytics to warranty challenges. 

SAS' new patents are "Computer-Implemented Systems and Methods for Warranty Analysis" (US patent number 7,904,319 ), and "Computer-Implemented Systems and Methods for Emerging Warranty Analysis Issues"   (US patent number 7,912,772).

These patents are the latest example of SAS innovation related to warranty analysis. SAS has incorporated many best practices from the manufacturing industry into a warranty-specific software solution. 

Retailers and manufacturers of automobiles, high-tech and industrial products, white goods and construction equipment benefit from SAS Warranty Analysis by taking full advantage of warranty and quality data. SAS Warranty Analysis is part of the SAS Service Intelligence product suite. 

Using SAS Warranty Analysis, for example, an automotive engineer can receive automatic notification of problems with anti-lock brakes. Combining technician comments with other pertinent data, the software can pinpoint the problem not just to warped rotors, but to those from a specific supplier and only when used in hot climates.
