Once again, SAS Canada named one of Canada's Top 100 Employers
Business analytics firm honored for the ninth consecutive year
Now entering its 11th year, the Canada's Top 100 Employers list aims to determine which employers lead their industries by offering exceptional workplaces for their employees.
To develop this year's Top 100 list Mediacorp, a specialty publisher of employment guides and periodicals, examined the recruitment histories of over 75,000 employers across Canada that it tracks for its popular job search site, Eluta.ca. From this initial group, Mediacorp selected 10,000 of the fastest-growing employers to apply for inclusion on the list. Another 2,500 companies and organizations, in specific industries that its editors wanted to examine more closely, were also selected. Employers completed an extensive application process that included a detailed review of their operations and HR practices. Over 2,750 employers participated in this year's application process.
"It has been rewarding to observe top employers staying the course in these more challenging times and not retreating from program and policy advances over the past decade," remarked Richard Yerema, Managing Editor Canada's Top 100 employers. "I take this as confirmation that these employers truly recognize the value of such benefits to their employees and would be reluctant to veer from their progressive paths."
Employers are evaluated by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers using eight criteria: Physical Workplace; Work Atmosphere & Social; Health, Financial & Family Benefits; Vacation & Time Off; Employee Communications; Performance Management; Training & Skills Development; and Community Involvement. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.
