Queen's School of Business Launches Specialized Master of Management Analytics Program
KINGSTON, ON (20 Feb. 2013) – Today, Queen's School of Business announced the launch of its new Master of Management Analytics (MMA) program, further strengthening the School's mission to prepare future business leaders for success in this underserved, yet important field.
"Big data and information is the key to success for many blue chip companies today," says Dr. Yuri Levin, Program Director and Professor of Operations Management at Queen's School of Business. "Now more than ever, companies are looking for personnel who can make sense of data and turn it into valuable business insights and solutions. Offering a unique and highly specialized program in management analytics will help train the brightest leaders in a growing industry."
Offered at Queen's School of Business' downtown Toronto facility, the MMA program will help nurture talent within the growing field of management analytics where data collection, analysis and conversion to valuable business output are key needs. According to a recent study by McKinsey & Company, the demand for talent in this specialized field will outpace supply by 50 per cent across North America by 2018.
The program is a collaborative consultation with Queen's School of Business faculty, industry specialists and corporate partners such as SAS, a global leader in business analytics software and services, which administers the industry recognized Predictive Modeling Certification Examination. Select courses may qualify for certification requirements for either a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or a Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute.
“We’re very proud to be part of Queen’s new Masters of Management Analytics as its in-depth curriculum is preparing tomorrow’s leaders to use advanced analytics combined with the principles of business management to help businesses realize their full competitive advantage,” said Cameron Dow, Vice President of Marketing for SAS Americas. “SAS, which got its start within the academic community, has remembered its roots and is committed to leading the way for integrating technology into education in order to improve student learning and success throughout their education and career."
The 10-month MMA program, which will commence in June 2013, is the latest addition to a suite of innovative Master’s programs that include the Master of Finance and Master of International Business, both of which have attracted top students from around the world.
