Thank you for visiting the GHSUG (Golden Horseshoe SAS Users Group) website. The GHSUG provides SAS users in the Hamilton and Niagara Region areas a great opportunity to share experiences, exchange ideas, and promote the learning spirit of using SAS.

In the 2nd October, the second regular meeting of this year was held in Hamilton among members of the Golden Horseshoe SAS user Group (GHSUG). A total of 45 people attended this meeting. After the opening remarks from Mr. Barry Hong (from U. S. Steel Canada), the President of GHSUG and Mr. Matt Malczewski, the representative from SAS Canada, Ms. Nadia Akseer, a graduate student from Brock University, presented “using statistical analysis in SAS to answer research questions”. Then, Ms. Samantha Majna, another graduate student from Brock University, did book review on “Base SAS 9.1 Procedures guide, volumes 1-4”. After a break, Ms. Martha Casanova (from SAS Canada) gave a talk of “SAS customer reference program overview” and Mr. Ian Ghent (from Bell Canada) discussed “running a stored process by querying metadata server”. Ms. Lesley Harschnitz (From Dofasco) led “Proc du Jour” this time; she demonstrated how to use “Proc Compare” procedure in datasets checking and comparison. Overall, people had a positive response to the topics presented in this meeting.

The next GHSUG regular meeting will be held April 23rd (Friday), 2010. Please mark this date on your calendar and join us for the next meeting.

We are always looking for User presentations for upcoming User Group meetings.  This is an excellent opportunity to not only share your knowledge and your experience with your peers, but also get feedback and ideas on the work that you are doing with SAS.  For more information, please contact Matt Malczewski.
