SAS recognizes excellence in teaching, use of analytics in education
Third annual education awards honor Kennesaw State University, NCSU professor and student ambassadors
Many of today’s businesses are faced with the challenge of employing a workforce with skills to analyze big data and make effective decisions. Use of analytics by educational institutions to improve administration, teaching and learning is one way to address this growing need. Acknowledging the importance of analytics in education, SAS has recognized Kennesaw State University with the third annual SAS Excellence in Education award and presented Dr. David Dickey of North Carolina State University with the SAS Distinguished Professor award. The 2014 SAS Student Ambassadors were also honored at SAS® Global Forum.
"Our most important initiative outside of serving our customers is ensuring that the next generation of leaders is prepared to use information to make wise, informed decisions,” said SAS CEO Jim Goodnight. “That’s why it’s so important to us to recognize Dr. Dickey, Kennesaw State University and the SAS student ambassadors for their work in advancing analytics training in higher education.”
Kennesaw State practices the analytics they preach
The SAS Excellence in Education Award was created to honor organizations that best illustrate the use of SAS to enable decision makers across the organization to act with the highest level of confidence and knowledge to meet defined goals.
