Sustainable North Carolina honors SAS with Triple Bottom Line AwardCARY, NC (Nov. 18, 2009) – SAS, the leader in business analytics software and services, received a prestigious 2009 Sustainable North Carolina Award on Nov. 11 in Raleigh. The SNC Awards honor businesses, organizations and individuals who have demonstrated leadership in promoting a sustainable economy in the state. SAS won the Triple Bottom Line Award, which recognizes initiatives that demonstrate the successful integration of social, environmental and economic objectives. SAS, a global business analytics company with headquarters in Cary, is taking a long-term view of sustainability built on three pillars – its employees, educational philanthropy and the environment. SAS’ environmental sustainability program on its Cary campus also includes solar thermal hot water systems, regenerative drive elevators, two buildings currently under construction designed to achieve LEED certification, water and waste conservation projects, and active employee engagement efforts. SAS® for Sustainability Management, launched in April 2008, helps organizations accurately measure and manage their environmental impact. “We are highlighting the need to invest in North Carolina’s innovators with this year’s program.
