SAS Netherlands achieves second place in Great Place to Work rankingA big step forward on the list of leading international companiesHUIZEN, NETHERLANDS (Apr. 19, 2010) – SAS, market leader in Business Analytics, has been ranked second in the 2010 Great Place to Work list in the Netherlands. The Great Place to Work Institute annually composes the list of the best employers based on two criteria. The first is responses from employees to the Great Place to Work Trust Index survey, which is developed by the Great Place to Work Institute. The Trust Index is defined by responses to 58 statements that address five dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie. The employee responses account for two thirds of the overall score. The remaining third is based on a survey of the organization’s management about good employment practices and how they are implemented. This is the third year in a row that SAS is among the top twenty employers in the Netherlands. Compared to 2009 SAS has climbed from twentieth to second position in the category of “Large & Multi-national Companies,” coming in just behind Microsoft. “This is a major achievement, scoring second on the list of large and multi-national companies ahead of so many well-known and respectable companies,” Country Manager Karel Kinders says. “I am very honored and proud to see this appreciation from our employees.” SAS Netherlands scored a total of 88 percent in the Trust Index. The average score is 58 percent. SAS has especially distinguished itself in the dimensions of camaraderie and respect, with respective scores of 92 percent and 88 percent compared to average scores of 80 and 86 percent. “This score is the outcome of continuously investing in a healthy culture, in which matters like a good work-life balance and providing, asking and using feedback are vital,” says Remco Korzaan, Manager of Human Resources at SAS Netherlands. “It's great to see that this investment has resulted in a culture where employees are proud to work for SAS."
