SAS forms new region for Central and Southeast EuropeSAS moves even closer to customers thanks to new structuresVIENNA (Oct. 01, 2009) – SAS, the leader in business analytics software and services with more than 400 locations worldwide, is intensifying its involvement in Central and Southeast Europe. As organizations are reacting to the challenges brought on by globalization by regionalizing their business, SAS has formed the region SAS Central Southeast Europe (CSEE) in order to align with the customer base in the area. Mikael Hagström, Executive Vice President of SAS EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and Asia Pacific, made the announcement in Vienna today. The new SAS CSEE region includes branches in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia and Greece. “By forming this region we are creating the ideal conditions to be even closer to customers and therefore in a position to better serve them as trusted advisors,” explains Hagström. Jana Zizková was named Regional Director for SAS in CSEE. Formerly the Country Manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, she emphasizes the significance of the new region in response to changed customer behavior and customer needs. “Globalization and regionalization confront our customers with new business challenges and needs. Therefore, today more than ever, it is important to adjust our structure so that we can continue to support our customers’ requirements – especially in these challenging economic times,” Zizková explains. In addition, Zizková will be tasked with ensuring alignment and cross-border use of the business expertise, to achieve better cohesion between offices in the region as well as sharing of the intellectual property to better serve the customers. “These days we hear a lot about optimizing the business processes and in the same time minimizing the risk. There is so much potential within the analytics space waiting to be unlocked, and I look forward to engaging with companies throughout the region on how this can benefit their business,” she states.
