SAS earns NCSEA 2009 Outstanding Achievement AwardCompany commitment includes solar programs, green building projects, sustainable energyCARY, NC (Oct. 27, 2009) – A one-megawatt solar farm, solar thermal system, and LEED-certified and energy- efficient buildings have earned SAS the highest honors from the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association (NCSEA). SAS, the leader in business analytics software and services, accepted the award at NCSEA’s Annual Membership Meeting and Green Energy Economy Forum at the Charlotte Convention Center. The NCSEA awards program honors North Carolinians who have promoted and championed renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency and green building solutions in communities across the state. “SAS’ overall commitment to promoting sustainable energy has made it a leader among businesses statewide and nationally,” said Julie Robinson, NCSEA Marketing and Communications Director. “Our environmental sustainability program is simply part of the way we do business. It’s the right thing to do and it makes measureable business sense,” said Jerry Williams, SAS Environmental Sustainability Program Manager. “With these efforts, we’re creating a model that other organizations can emulate.” NCSEA honored 11 other individuals, businesses and community organizations with its 2009 Sustainable Energy Awards in front of an audience of close to 400 people from across North Carolina. Winners were nominated and chosen by NCSEA’s Board of Directors, staff and other members.
