JMP® Genomics next-gen seminar to be held at Broad InstituteEast Coast venues also include Rockville, MD, and Bedminster, NJCARY, NC (Sep. 17, 2009) – Next-generation genetic sequencing technology and its applications to groundbreaking scientific research will be the focus of a seminar sponsored by JMP Genomics and hosted by the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard in Cambridge, MA, Thursday, Oct. 8. The Broad event is the last of three stops in the East Coast genomics seminar series, which includes presentations at Johns Hopkins University’s Rockville, MD, campus, Tuesday, Oct. 6, and at the SAS office in Bedminster, NJ, Wednesday, Oct. 7. All events are open to members of the scientific community without charge. Representatives from SAS and the National Center for Genome Resources (NCGR) will discuss NCGR’s award-winning research into the biological roots of schizophrenia and its next-gen analysis pipeline, which integrates with JMP Genomics for statistical analysis and visualization of summarized data from next-generation studies. Presenters include Faye Schilkey, Associate Director of NCGR’s New Mexico Genome Sequencing Center, and Doug Robinson, PhD, JMP Genomics Application Scientist Manager. The half-day seminars are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
