SAS partners in defining state and local government IT excellence
Digital States Performance Institute study highlights analytics during historic budget crunch
CARY, NC (Feb. 17, 2010) – SAS’ analytics expertise informs a benchmarking tool that helps states drive innovation in government. The Digital States Performance Institute’s biannual Digital States Survey identifies the 25 most tech-savvy states in the nation, validates progress in digital government and recognizes a wide range of achievement, from infrastructure and online applications to fraud detection and green IT.
As a Premiere Partner of the Digital States Performance Institute, SAS’s expertise in analytics will help drive the sophistication of the survey. The Digital States Performance Institute is a creation of the Center for Digital Government (CDG).
“Through our partnership with the Center for Digital Government SAS will learn what matters most to state and government leaders, and help them understand the critical role of analytics in meeting their goals,” said SAS State and Local Government General Manager Paula Joshi. “With billions lost to fraud and unclaimed tax revenue and skyrocketing demand for services, it is imperative governments analyze their data to recover funds and improve efficiencies.”
Through the partnership, SAS will gain insight into how its advanced analytics can have the greatest impact in state government. Health and human services, finance and administration, transportation and criminal justice, and public safety are all areas where sophisticated data analyses can improve services and save tax dollars.
