SAS recognized as leading R&D center in ChinaSAS Beijing R&D receives China’s Best Software R&D Center Leader AwardBEIJING (Jan. 05, 2010) – SAS Beijing R&D was one of nine R&D organizations that received China’s Best Software R&D Center Awards for 2009 at the eighth annual China System and Software Process Improvement conference. The center is a division of SAS, the global leader in business analytics software and services. Alfred Liu, General Manager of SAS Beijing R&D, accepted the 2009 China’s Best Software R&D Center Leader Award on behalf of SAS at the conference on Friday, Nov. 20. Excelling in many areasThe Best Software R&D Center Awards recognize companies that have been performing well in creativity and innovation, technology and R&D capability, production and profitability, social liability and human resources. Beijing R&D has excelled in those areas as one of the leading R&D centers in China. Beijing R&D registered as an R&D organization in 2005. The number of full-time employees reached 185 in 2009. SAS Beijing R&D provides competitive benefits and a comfortable working environment for its employees. Fifteen percent of the employees are at the senior or doctorate level. Every year, all employees may receive at least 20 hours of internal or external training. For years, Beijing R&D has maintained a low turnover rate. Employees working at Beijing R&D for five consecutive years are rewarded with five-year service awards. To date, twelve employees have received this award. Growing steadilyBeijing R&D contributes to a broad variety of SAS products by focusing on core competencies such as internationalization, localization, test automation and performance testing. Some other areas that Beijing R&D is growing rapidly include Model Manager development, Unity Data Integration Platform development, hardware sizing support and SAS® Solutions OnDemand. Beijing R&D is growing steadily and is a strong central hub for the research and development of SAS products. Beijing R&D is recognized for its accomplishments by SAS R&D employees around the world. The Best R&D Center Award symbolizes the strong reputation that Beijing R&D has among authorities in China’s software industry. The award is one of the many achievements that resulted from continuous efforts for both internal and external success.
