SAS awarded HR Excellence Award for Best HR Initiative of the Year 

SAS® Human Capital Management software recognized for supporting intelligent planning, management and retention of employees

TERVUREN, BELGIUM  (Nov. 19, 2010)  – SAS, leader in business analytics, earned "Best HR Initiative of the Year" at the first HR Excellence Awards on 18 November in Genval, Belgium. The jury's main criterion for this recognition was innovation in human resources (HR).

Organized by ARC Event, a division of The ARC Group, the event involved more than 600 HR professionals and recognized 15 companies. Within each category, nominees were judged on three criteria: innovation, quality of services and customer satisfaction. The winners were chosen through the combined input of the HR community and an independent jury of nine HR managers.

The only software provider in the special category "Best HR Initiative of the Year," SAS was chosen by the jury for the benefits the company's SAS Human Capital Intelligence solutions offer HR organizations. The jury appreciated the innovative way in which the software helps companies derive value from employee information. Using advanced analytics, SAS enables organizations to forecast of the impact of strategic decisions or scenarios on its human capital. They can then predict and model changes in its workforce based on facts and anticipate changes before they actually occur.

Other nominees in this special category were Activity, Edenred, Human Business, Ormit and Sodexo Motivation Solutions.

The award was presented to Country Manager SAS Belgium & Luxembourg Patrick Van Deven. "For SAS Belgium & Luxembourg, it is a real honor to receive this award from a jury of top professions in the HR world. This underlines the importance of talent management, as well as the development of a strategic plan based on thorough analyses of facts and trends," explains Van Deven. "Today, organizations have to cope with a tight labor market and an aging population. Now, more than ever, it is important to have good insight into the knowledge and skills of your company's employees and to understand in what way these influence the productivity of your business."
