SAS among the best places to work in Argentina
(Oct. 22, 2012)
– "A successful family" is how Apertura magazine describes SAS, which achieved third place in publication's prestigious ranking of the Best Employers in Argentina.
The annual study is based a 70-question survey covering more than 300 leading companies. SAS Argentina ranked third among firms with fewer than 200 employees. Human resources directors of various companies responded a survey structured around five themes: career, remuneration, working environment, working hours and conditions, and training. Each participant also had to answer what companies, in his view, demonstrate the best management in the region.
Gustavo Gutman, CEO of SAS Argentina, credits SAS founder and CEO Jim Goodnight with a phrase that sums up the SAS culture "My most important assets go home at the end of every day. My challenge is to make sure they return the next day." He takes the commitment personally, having built the company on a foundation of HR best practices that now benefit more than 13,000 SAS employees worldwide.
Gutman, in turn, observes that his own personal challenge is to give people opportunity for growth. "As the company grows, it just makes sense to continue to provide exceptional benefits to all our staff. In our case, that means OSDE 410 (medical insurance), a pension plan, a salary above the market average, and the possibility to pursue a career in a SAS office in one of the 55 countries where SAS is located around the world."
