SAS among 2011 InformationWeek 500 top US innovators

Collaborative Web 2.0 technologies build culture of trust

CARY, NC  (Sep. 14, 2011)  – SAS, leader in business analytics software and services, is among the nation's most innovative users of business technology. The company's use of Web 2.0 technologies won recognition from InformationWeek 500 for building dynamic working relationships that draw experience and insight from throughout the company and connect global employees. The Web 2.0 strategies include SAS internal blogging, customized news and information subscriptions via RSS feeds, company news articles with open comments, interactive polls, a social networking platform and wikis.

These tools have generated the highest employee satisfaction rates in company history.  They also foster competitive advantage, with measurable gains in interactions with customers and the world beyond corporate hallways,” said Suzanne Gordon, SAS CIO. “SAS also experienced its highest rate of customer satisfaction in 2010. Undoubtedly, our high rates of customer and employee satisfaction are related.”

"For 23 years, the InformationWeek 500 has chronicled and honored the most innovative users of business technology," said InformationWeek Editor-in-Chief Rob Preston. "In this day and age, however, being innovative isn't enough. Companies and their IT organizations need to innovate faster than ever before to stay a step or two ahead of their customers, partners and competitors. This year's ranking placed special emphasis on those high-octane business technology innovators."

The InformationWeek 500 honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology and tracks the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America's best-known companies. The rankings are unique in spotlighting the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
