SAS wins NCTA 21 Award for commitment to educationTechnology group honors SAS for supporting education through innovation and philanthropyCARY, NC (Nov. 13, 2006) – SAS, the leader in business intelligence, today announced that it received the Corporate Education award from the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) at its annual NCTA 21 Awards gala last Thursday. The NCTA 21 Awards are the oldest and most prestigious technology awards in North Carolina; they recognize outstanding contributions that information technology companies and individuals have made during the past year to the industry, community and state. For 30 years, SAS has remained committed to supporting education through innovation and philanthropy, with the goal of enhancing education through technology. The ceremony’s theme was “Renaissance: Invention to Opportunity” and celebrated the renewed spirit of innovation in North Carolina. The 2006 NCTA 21 awards comprised five categories: technology industry awards, stage of development awards, functional awards, leadership awards and excellence awards. Other notable companies to notch finalist spots for the award included Cisco Systems Inc., IBM and Time Warner Cable.
