John Wiley & Sons, Inc., to Bundle JMP® Software with Textbooks by Prominent Statisticians

Software’s interactivity and graphics support the application of advanced statistics

CARY, NC  (Oct. 29, 2007)  –  SAS, the leader in business intelligence, today announced an agreement with John Wiley & Sons, Inc., to bundle a fully functional version of JMP software with textbooks used in advanced and applied statistics courses. Students can purchase the bundles at their campus bookstores starting January 2008, in time for the 2007-2008 spring semester.

The publisher will offer three of its seminal titles bundled with a 12-month edition of JMP: Statistics for Experimenters: Design, Innovation, and Discovery by George E. P. Box, J. Stuart Hunter and William G. Hunter; Design and Analysis of Experiments by Douglas C. Montgomery; and Introduction to Statistical Quality Control by Douglas C. Montgomery. Professors adopting any of these texts may request that their campus bookstores stock the bundled editions.

“All of these books are used widely to prepare students for real-world applications of statistics to the field of quality improvement – applications that rely on software to analyze complex problems that involve huge amounts of data,” said Steve Quigley, Executive Editor at Wiley and editor of the Box/Hunter/Hunter book.

Jenny Welter, editor of Montgomery’s books and Acquisitions Editor at Wiley & Sons, added, “These titles are essential reading and desktop references for advanced students in academic programs in the sciences, engineering and business. Bundling them with JMP software adds a hands-on capability that will certainly reinforce understanding.”

JMP software runs on Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems. For details about adopting and ordering any of the bundles for a course, or ordering for your campus bookstore, visit the Wiley & Sons Web site at www.wiley.com.  For more information about JMP software, visit www.jmp.com.
