SAS names Jennifer Mann VP of Human Resources

10-year SAS veteran to lead HR for award-winning work/life pioneer

CARY, NC  (Mar. 17, 2008)  –  SAS, the leader in business intelligence, has appointed Jennifer Mann Vice President of Human Resources. The appointment, effective immediately, was announced to HR staff Friday by Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Jim Davis. Mann, a SAS Human Resources Manager since 1998, will report to Davis.

“Jenn has a clear vision for where HR needs to go and how to help SAS recruit, retain and develop the best talent,” Davis said. “I look forward to working with her as we continue to attract and retain top talent throughout the world.”

SAS has long been recognized as an innovator in encouraging employee work/life balance. Employees at headquarters in Cary, NC, enjoy onsite amenities including healthcare and daycare centers, a 66,000-square-foot recreation and fitness center, plus incentive programs to reward employee wellness.  SAS’ consistent appearance on the FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For list earned the company membership in the magazine’s Hall of Fame, whose 22 inductees appear on every list since 1998.

With plans to grow SAS revenues to $3 billion by 2010, and anticipating the challenges in expanding to support that growth, Mann said HR must focus on enhancing existing efforts to:

  • Attract the right resources to meet business goals,
  • Develop current staff to meet demands now and in the future,
  • Retain key talent by providing growth opportunities and programs that keep them fully engaged
  • Grow SAS’ employment brand globally.

“These challenges are shared globally throughout our HR organization. I look forward to working with our counterparts worldwide to develop a plan for moving these initiatives forward,” Mann said.

Mann began her career as HR Director for Micron CMS in Research Triangle Park, NC. Since joining SAS, Mann has worked closely with executives on employee performance and organizational effectiveness initiatives. In her most recent role, Mann supported a diverse employment base with a worldwide presence.

Mann graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C., with a bachelor's degree in psychology and business. She is a member of the national Society for Human Resource Management. She has also served as a company sponsor and mentor for one of the company’s high-potential leadership programs.
