Sorin Group chooses SAS BI Server to monitor and analyze clinical dataMilan (Feb. 01, 2007) – Sorin Group has chosen SAS BI Server, an integrated component of the SAS(R) 9 intelligence platform, for business reporting. Sorin Group is using the solution from SAS, the leader in business intelligence, to monitor clinical data from hospitals across Europe, specifically from cardiac surgery and valve prosthesis wards. Sorin Group, a world leader in cardiosurgery technologies, needed to improve both the clinical know-how and the quality of long-term use devices. They also wanted to cross-reference the huge volumes of data concerning patient implant devices with other significant information. Additionally, Sorin Group wanted to guarantee general access to simple reports that could be shared in real time and via the corporate intranet. “Before using SAS BI Server, we had just one biostatistical resource processing programs and reports,” says Valter Arata, Clinical Data Management Team Leader. “With the SAS Web Report Studio reporting tool, we have successfully eliminated the bottlenecks. Clinical users can now create reports easily and independently.” SAS BI Server's simple interfaces and guided analytics enables users to perform complex analyses on their own. Taking full advantage of the solution's proven analytical and data integration capabilities, users can create wizard-driven reports together with step-by-step instructions and self-service interfaces, appropriate and accessible by even the least expert users.
