Dear Readers,

SAS advisors and industry analysts believe that this economic downturn should be the time when your organization seizes competitive advantage. However, even as the first glimmers of a US economic recovery take root – spurred, in part, by organizations that reported better than expected quarterly profits - analysts caution that rebounds resulting solely from labor and wage cost-cutting measures are short-term. Look for long-term changes that will position your organization for healthier, more competitive growth as the economy fully recovers. Alison Bolen, Editor-in-Chief of sascom® magazine and author of sascom voices, has 11 Strategic Ideas for Economic Recovery .
