SAS®9 Wins Technologies of the Year AwardEditors of IndustryWeek, the leading manufacturing publication, have selected the SAS®9 Intelligence Platformas one of the five Technologies of the Year for 2004. A complete list of the winners and a profile of each winning technology are featured in the magazine’s December 2004 issue and at www.IndustryWeek.com. To select the winners, IndustryWeek editors solicit reader nominations for a judging process designed to recognize outstanding achievement in technology, says Patricia Panchak, editor-in-chief. To be eligible, candidate technologies must relate in a significant way to accomplishments and achievements in the current year. "The SAS®9 Intelligence Platform achieves an important milestone in the evolution of business intelligence applications by opening the power of business analytics to a broad employee base," says Tonya Vinas, IndustryWeek managing editor. Winners of the IndustryWeek Technology and Innovation Awards, now in their 12th year, span the entire range of science and engineering. The editors seek developments that show great potential for redirecting business opportunities and creating new growth in the manufacturing world. Represented among the winners are software and hardware solutions for manufacturing, new computer-aided systems for management decision making, R&D developments with the potential for creating new industries, and commercial products that represent bellwethers for fundamental change. "It’s gratifying to be included on this elite list," says Jason Mann, global strategist for manufacturing solutions at SAS. "We’re pleased that those in the field and the editors of IndustryWeek recognize how powerful our products are."
